About Gregory S. Forman, P.C.

Experienced, Thoughtful Family Law Advocacy

I am a sole practitioner with my practice in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. I opened my law practice in November 1993 with the goal of providing individuals with zealous, thoughtful and reasonably priced legal services. I represent individuals all over the Low Country but primarily in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties. Over the years, my practice's emphasis has increasingly focused on family law-especially divorce, alimony, property division, child custody and child support-though I also handle personal injury, criminal law and appeals. I practice family law because I believe it is important to help parents develop and maintain relationships with their children and to help spouses preserve their lifestyle when their marriage is no longer working.

My belief is that clients are best served when I provide dual roles as their lawyer: counselor and advocate. In the counselor role (which is always private), I try to guide clients to engage in ethically and legally correct behavior and develop and pursue realistic legal goals. In the advocate role, I zealously pursue client goals in my dealings with other parties, attorneys and the court. In providing both counsel and advocacy to my clients, I believe I can help them achieve these important goals. I have an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell.

In 2009, I undertook a formal 40-hour program in Family Law Mediation Training offered by the South Carolina Bar and am certified as a Family Court Mediator with the State of South Carolina. In 2012, I attended Advanced Family Law Mediation training. If you are interested in having me mediate your family law dispute, please contact my office. Let me put my experience to work for you in helping you resolve your most important domestic issues.

Hired Attorney Gregory S. Forman

Greg has represented me several times in family court and I find him to be very thorough, very knowledgeable of the law and how the court system works, time efficient, very honest and trust worthy, always seemed to be looking out for my best interest, has given me great advice, and the only attorney that I've ever dealt with that sends me a check for monies not used without having to ask for it. I also find his blogs to very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend him.

I found Mr. Forman to be forthright, honest, timely, and able to bring about results beyond what I expected. I was exceptionally pleased with the outcome of my case and attribute this to his expertise and willingness to go beyond what was required. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Forman will deliver the RESULTS that you desire. He practices law ethically and is not concerned with “mud slinging” tactics commonly used in family law. Process your emotions and allow him to care of business.

Excellent attorney with regards to legal skills. At times is abrasive and can be intimidating to client.

Hired Attorney Gregory S. Forman

Although a little abrupt in his communications, he saved this client substantial costs by keeping me informed via cc's on E-mails, rather than consulting at length by phone. He was extremely prompt in responses to actions by opposing counsel and accurately reflected my wishes regarding settlement. His legal skills were outstanding. He exercised initiative to resolve all obstacles raised by my ex-husband,and prevailed on both the law and the facts in reaching a successful conclusion.

While Mr. Forman is a good attorney, he is rude.

I met with this clown one time. He also represented a friend of mine for a period of time. My short term experience with him and the longer term experiences of my friend were the same… ABUSIVE. He is a classic “abuser” documented in his behavioral responses to many that have reviewed him. Excuses Excuses Excuses and 0 personal accountability for his “abusive” behaviors. His abusive, “excuse making” behaviors are unacceptable for any family law attorney. Please get help Mr. Forman with a domestic abuse group and the book “Why do they do that? Inside the minds of angry and controlling men” You are a disgrace to your profession if you continue to “minimize” your own sick behaviors.
