Hired Attorney Edward J. Blake Jr.

I hired Mr. Blake to assist with a the probate process for a deceased relative. Everything was going well until he provided a draft of a document for me to review and it included information from a previous client. Suggesting to me that he was recycling documents. This isn't an issue as I suspect it's very common, but what I find concerning is that Mr. Blake charged me around 6-8 billable hours for every document he claims to have drafted from scratch. Even though I suspect he is just making quick edits to drafts already on hand. Something that shouldn't be legal. Additionally, Mr. Blake baits clients into engaging him unnecessarily in order to pad his billable hours. For example, providing these quickly edited documents and asking for input only to charge the client for numerous hours to point out his mistakes. Another trick of his, is to charge for sending an email acknowledging receipt of an email. Simply unethical no matter how you slice it.

It cost me over seventeen thousand dollars ($17,000.00) for uncontested guardianship over my mother, who had developed alzheimer's and dementia. I was awarded Power of Attorney over the person and estate).

Hired Attorney Jennifer Behme

Jennifer is just a paper pusher. She will not fight for you, especially if you are male. This comes out if you disagree with her on anything. In my case, I lost extra money because she couldn't properly perform cutoffs on bank statements. When I questioned her, she quickly placed the blame on me. This is why you would be better off representing yourself as the high earner. She will just do whatever opposing counsel says unless you manage the case.

The firm overbilled me and did work I did not ask for. There was many mistakes in documentations. Other issues which I will not discuss on this review.

He needs a class in professionalism and learning how to communicate with clients. If you have a big case, he's not educated enough to handle it, maybe traffic court.

Hired Attorney Jennifer Behme

Jennifer is the primary example of greedy lawyer. After we explained our situation and as the case got more complicated instead of trying to work with us in any way she demanded all her fees and money upfront and even demanded another retainer fee. We had explained to her that during this issue coming up we were impacted by COVID. That didnt matter to her. We attempted to do a payment plan with her after we secured new council and told her that since we had to pay new council we couldnt afford much but would give all that we could for her bill until it was paid. She responded wanting all of her money in full right away. She responded immediately about money to her but would take days or longer to respond about anything going on with the case. It is clear that her and her firm only want clients that can pay thousands of dollars a month for little to no work being done. I would suggest you find a different lawyer that actually cares about you and your case rather than your money.

Do not use this law firm. They are not transparent with billing practices and seem to charge you excessively to communicate through a call center. You can never get the actual attorney handling your case on the phone but you will be excessively charged for "communications." Do yourself a favor and stay away from this firm.

Stay away from this attorney and firm. In my experience, this was the most unethical attorney I’ve ever dealt with. Their billing practices are highly questionable—they route all communication through a call center, then charge excessively for even the most minor interactions. Take a look at their real Yelp reviews; they paint a clear picture of the firm’s unethical behavior.

Stay far away from this law firm. By far the most unethical firm I’ve ever dealt with. They bill aggressively for little to no work, and good luck ever getting anyone on the phone. Check their Yelp reviews—they tell a much different story, which makes me seriously question the legitimacy of the glowing reviews posted here.

An absolute scam. I hired them for "potential" property listings in IL and ended up receiving zero services from them. YET, every single email (a total of <10 to & from, most just two-three sentences) has cost me $900+. They charge you $175 for postage that you never asked for. Stay CLEAR.
