Evans Family Law Group is centrally located near downtown, Austin, Texas. The firm has client-focused staff of 2 attorneys, 3 paralegals, 2 legal assistants who are dedicated to client satisfaction. The members of the firm have extensive trial and mediation experience.
Finding the right attorney goes beyond hiring a single lawyer. The attorneys and staff at Evans Family Law were all well versed on my situation, took the time to thoroughly explain everything and were very responsive to the changing needs of my case.
All divorces are tough, but mine was one for the record books! It was a 9 year battle with an estranged spouse that was dishonest, manipulative, and unethical. In the early years of the conflict, I retained two different attorneys who both made big mistakes. Thankfully, when my case become most dire, I found Jimmy Evans. Jimmy brings a level of integrity, strategy, and honesty that is extremely rare in the legal profession. He fought for me, my children, and my assets fiercely over the course of two years and we prevailed in a precedent-setting custody battle even in the face of some pretty scary odds. I hope you never find yourself in a bitter divorce dogfight, but if you do, your first call should be to Jimmy Evans.
Jimmy provided excellent guidance through the maze of crap that you have to go through during the process of divorce. Their paralegal staff were also very responsive and helped move the process along in a timely and efficient manner
Jimmy is every bit the 'scrapper' his reputation holds him out to be. Though it took some convincing to get him into Jimmy's office, once we were there talking to Jimmy my fiancee finally understood how important it was that we get representation for our family law troubles. I am absolutely convinced that without an attorney of Jimmy's caliber we wouldn't have gotten the result we did at our hearing. He made opposing counsel look like an amateur.
I had an overall positive experience with Evans Family Law Group, and appreciate that they specialize in Agreed Divorces. I spoke initially with James Evans, who gave me some creative solutions to some complications/challenges in my case. My assigned lawyer was knowledgeable, patient, and detail oriented. The paralegal assigned to my case was also was efficient and helpful. I did experience some impact from turnover unfortunately, and had to work with 3 separate lawyers, which led to some communication gaps and lags. However, they got the job done and I am grateful for their help + support during a difficult period.
I had initially hoped my divorce case would be quick and relatively easy. It ended up being anything but quick or easy. Jimmy was very responsive and thorough, making sure the "i"s were dotted and "t"s were crossed. His paralegal, Nicole, was fantastic and very responsive. She did a great job keeping things organized and responding promptly. A former lawyer in the firm could have done things better, which is why this is not a 5 star rating, but once Jimmy was aware of the situation he worked to rectify the issues. His current team seems great.
EFLG was prompt and very responsive in attending to my needs along the way and explained the entire process to me very clearly at the outset which left me with clarity. However, I would suggest that they keep their clients informed regarding any potential changes in their legal counsels along the way, so as to avoid surprises.
Jimmy Evans and the team at the law group were very helpful and supportive during my custody case as a young single mom. Jimmy helped to ease my stress levels and set reasonable expectations throughout the entire process while continually fighting for our case. Thanks Jimmy, Ashley and the rest of the crew!
Divorce was the most painful experience of my life, I had no idea what good or bad representation looked like. At times I had doubts, but when it mattered most, Jimmy delivered. He understood my priorities, built a strategy I could follow, and the result was exactly what I wanted with only minor concessions you would have to expect from the start. Jimmy isn’t a therapist and won’t coddle you, but if you’re ready to treat divorce as it's meant to be treated, strictly business, he’s a partner you can count on when it matters most.
Jimmy Evans is smart, easy to reach and did a good job on our agreed divorce. He did not add on superfluous charges which we appreciated. Unfortunately, his assistant/secretary was not at all accurate or on top of things. This resulted in numerous misspellings on Jimmy’s drafts and a misspelling of both of our names on an official document that she filed with the court. And Jimmy charges $175/hour for her work! With an adequate assistant Jimmy’s firm would be great.
