About Katherine Bruya

I come from a long line of attorneys: the law and justice are in my blood. Since 1998, I have served clients in Auburn and King County with their family law concerns and problems.

Divorce and family law is a very emotional area of the law and I have worked exclusively in this area. I am committed to providing as much support as possible for my clients.

I began working in family law as an intern and then as an attorney for an attorney in King County. In 2006, I moved my law office back to King County and in 2014 decided to move my office to my home in Auburn.

Because I am a sole practitioner and work out of my home, I am able to spend as much time as needed, whenever needed, on each of my cases. I often have phone conferences in the evenings and weekends to accommodate my clients' schedules.

Hired Attorney

Divorce, child custody and a protection order led me to Kathy. I obtained a DV protection order against my husband, and he countered by filing for divorce. Kathy has held my hand through a volatile situation, patiently guiding me through the complexities of a protection order, divorce and child custody issues. She is experienced, knowledgeable and patient. I have had the utmost confidence in her, and quite frankly, I don’t think I could have made it without her. I absolutely recommend Kathy!

I have years of professional experience in the Legal Field and when I found myself on the other side, I was fortunate to have found Kathy to represent me during Arbitration for my Divorce. With decades of experience in Family Law, it's no secret why her reviews are so high. Aside from her brilliance in practice; her ability to connect with her clients is what I found most appealing about her. She genuinely cares for her clients and it shows in the way she operates throughout your case. Divorce is never an easy process. Kathy allowed me the opportunity to both grieve the loss of my marriage, as well as supported and encouraged me to navigate the legal process alongside her. Balancing the emotional aspect of Divorce with the "business" side, is oftentimes a struggle for many. She allowed me to stay true to my values in "fighting fair" throughout this process; to ensure I was operating in the best interest of everyone involved in the Divorce; even though I had everyone reason not to.
