I had a deeply disappointing experience with Melville Johnson, PC. Throughout my case, they switched my assigned attorney more than four times without explanation, causing confusion, delays, and a complete lack of continuity in my representation. Despite my repeated efforts to provide full details, the attorneys failed to properly present all of my claims in my EEOC filing. As a result, critical parts of my case were left out, seriously damaging my ability to argue my full complaint. Their handling of my case demonstrated a clear lack of competence, diligence, and communication, and their actions (or lack thereof) have had serious consequences for my legal rights. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm. Based on my experience, they do not prioritize their clients’ best interests, and they failed to provide the level of professionalism and care that every client deserves. I have also file a grievance with Georgia State Bar.
Currently being investigated by the GA Bar Assoc. According to ex-employee (attorney) firm's business model is based on a standard policy of charging for a min # of daily hrs. This means that an attorney must charge you for nonsensical things in order to fulfill this 6.5 hrs minimum. They charged me approx. half an hour or more to "email" a template doc & many minutes to put my contact info into a database. Specifically, Jennifer Isaacs, breached the contract taking my $7.5k by withdrawing from my case when I asked questions about billing. She refused to meet with me to determine what work I needed her to do. This allowed for her to bill me for "alleged" work that I didn't need. I've been in the EO/DEI space for over 25yrs. When I received the 1st invoice I could see how she was trying to get away with billing for frivolous alleged services. Then they sent a 2nd bill trying to cover up and justify the literal "theft" of my retainer. Taking them to court.
My case lasted approximately 2 1/2 years. During that time I went through 8 different attorneys. The attorney who won my case left the firm shortly there after. The attorneys that followed with litigating my settlement were rude, threatening, and more inclined to string me along in order to guarantee a pay check.
