When I needed to get my daughter out of a bad situation, Kevin and his office went straight to work. They did a amazing job. I have not one complaint. But after it was all said done I got full 100% custody of my daughter. It would not have been possible with the knowledge and experience of Kevin and his office.
Very honest and straightforward throughout the legal process
I hired Shepherd and long for over three years and it took them that long just to get me in court for less than an hour. They told me right before I paid them the retainer that they would have no issues getting me some form of visitation with my daughter. They never called me. I always had to call them. They reset me more than four times in less than a six month period after they lost the case, there was no accountability. They only sent me a bill for the time that they spent losing my casing court the fact that Other people are going to hire this man in the future to represent them with their family or custody issues. Worries me because of how horrible of an experience I’ve had.
I hired Kevin for a rather complicated case. He was confident he could handle the case. I was also confident after the initial meeting. I was very disappointed to learn that he only wanted to take my retainer. He was extremely unresponsive. He would only respond if I owed money. He also did not show up to court on two separate occasions, dragging my case out an additional 6 months. He, of course, always had his "excuse." Upon settling the case, I feel I was lied to my Kevin Shepherd. I am certain he will disagree, as there is no actual recording of his lie. If you use this attorney, which I cannot recommend, be sure to record everything he says. He is slippery.
Never answers phone calls or emails. You won't know where your case stands. I ended up losing custody and had to pay legal fees. Kevin is inadequate to say the least as a lawyer.
I am very perplexed by the good reviews on Kevin Shepherd. My experiences with him were a nightmare and in no way resembled these other positive reviews. I do not have adequate space on this site to tell my whole story so I will try to summarize although I do not feel like that will truly convey the whole situation. He took our nonrefundable retainer, and sat on it for almost 10 months while getting nothing done. Around five months in, he apologized and gave us his word he would do better. (This is recorded) He lied. It took almost a year to simply file an almost agreed upon visitation/support modification He ignored phone calls and emails. Halfway through the process he couldn't remember what he was retained to do. An office worker gave me the WORST legal advice when I called in one time. I asked for HIS notes from my case for my records, he had none. HIs billing summary was falsified. Oh, and the phone call where he apologized for his behavior.....he billed me for it.
