Let’s be clear here. We’re a law firm. But we’re not just any law firm. We do law for small business. We’re all about helping small businesses navigate and avoid difficult problems. Our focus is also on helping new entrepreneurs get new businesses off the ground and assisting existing businesses in remaining safe and protected as they grow. We work through the hard stuff in small business so you can get back to doing business you love.

Our History

Law 4 Small Business started in 2011 when Larry Donahue identified a gap in legal service tailored for small businesses. There were few places small business owners could find reliable and straightforward legal consultation. Larry sought to change that by incorporating his business and legal expertise to create a space where small business owners could find solid and accessible legal advice.

L4SB has since assembled a team of business minded individuals spanning across several states dedicated to helping small business owners and leaders achieve goals and solve problems. In July of 2017, Law 4 Small Business merged with Business Law Southwest—forming one of the largest, most progressive, business-focused law firms in the Southwestern United States. No matter where you or your business are at, we strive to provide new services and partner offices to assist your business down any path it takes.

Larry helped us with a small business matter that needed some legal expertise. He was prompt in responding to our request for information, as well as generating the legal documents we needed. We were going to be out of town during some of the negotiation processes we were involved in, and we handled it all by email and phone. He was sensitive to our concerns in this matter, as well as our pocket book. Larry was pleasant to deal with and we would definitely recommend him to others with small bus

Hired Attorney Larry Donahue

Larry Donahue was difficult to work with, disingenuous, impatient, and expensive. He comes off very arrogant and know-it-all with a hint of rage or anger underneath the surface. I'd never want this man to represent me in court if anything ever went to trial. The contract work he did for my family business had to be redone after a lawsuit arising out of the way the contract was structured. Fortunately, I found a much more seasoned attorney who saved the day. But it was painful.

I'm sorry for your experience. I cannot ascertain whether you are really a client or not. It's very rare, but if a client will not spend the time or effort for an effective contract, I guess I can sound negative trying to warn of the potential problems.

Hired Attorney Larry Donahue

Mr Donahue was a nightmare to work with. He took a lot longer to review the information we spent hours compiling for him. His attitude was incredibly condescending. When he finished with our case, he left everything in disarray. We had to start all over and file an appeal to correct the mistakes of Laurence Donahue. An expensive mistake we will never make again. We then received an email offering us a discount of $100 off our massive bill if we would leave reviews on various lawyer review websites. This felt very disingenuine because Mr Donahue clearly overcharged us. At $300 an hour all you had to do is pad the bill for 20 minutes of time doing nothing to get his $100 back. Not only did it have insult to injury but it also felt highly manipulated. The cost to fix the mess created by Mr Donahue and his attitude problem (really over the top condescending and self-righteous), was massive. I wouldn't recommend him for anything.

Hired Attorney Larry Donahue

Larry Donahue mishandled our family's small business matter to the point where we lost tens of thousands of dollars just by following his advice. Our experience was similar to what some of the others have stated in their reviews here and in other places: an almost condescending attitude. It's taken us several years including through the pandemic to begin to recover from this mess. My sincerest hope is that Mr. Donahue begins to take this honest feedback to heart and cleans up his practice because this has been a nightmare to untangle and fix. It didn't have t be this way. Fortunately, we found an honest caring lawyer who worked pro bono because he felt bad about how we were treated by someone in his profession, and to resolve the mess done by Mr. Donahue and his office.

Hired Attorney Larry Donahue

Mr. Donahue owns a company called Healing Homes of Boston though he's located all the way in NM. This company has quite the scam going on where they rent units to people then have them robbed while they sleep, refund them while keeping one night and cancelling the reservation so we can't leave reviews. He plays and milks the system getting a lot more from stealing than they do from renting the units. Stay far away from this hack.

I own no such company. You are not a client. I suspect you're referring to a company we may have setup (i.e. I could be listed as an organizer), but I have no power over such a company. My firm literally sets up thousands of companies all across the US.

Hired Attorney Larry Donahue

bad experience Larry is a chronic liar I gave him money to start my LLC and he failed me after many weeks, and he also accused me of sending many forms, a lie he made I got my email and receipts and his claims are full of lies Larry is a chronic liar

Sorry you feel this way. You ordered on 1/9. We've been trying to get correct info from you. You're trying to use names and address that violate USPS Form 1583 and state legal requirements. I'm sorry you think we're lying. We're refunding. Good luck.

I contacted Law 4 Small Business looking for help during the sale of my business. I initially spoke with Larry, letting him know what my needs were. My first impression was that this firm was knowledgeable and would be responsive. However, phone calls were rarely returned, and if they were it was never in a timely fashion. Document review was very slow and often incomplete. Communication was extremely poor and many of my questions went unanswered. They were very prompt with billing though.
