I do not recommend Bert Oberlander. My experience was extremely disappointing—disorganized, ineffective, and lacking urgency. Communication was poor and I did not feel supported or properly represented. He appeared for an Order to Show Cause / fact-finding appearance while rushing through an airport/train station, which reflected the overall lack of preparation and professionalism. During this period, my case shifted from an 80/20 arrangement to 50/50, and afterward there was no meaningful legal follow-up, due diligence, enforcement action, or timely appeal strategy. I also experienced bullying and intimidation tactics rather than client-centered advocacy. When I requested that he be removed due to his conduct and lack of representation, I was essentially told that if I wanted different counsel, I would have to pay privately. If you are assigned this attorney, especially in a matter involving children, I strongly recommend requesting new counsel immediately. Based on my experience,
