About Corey James Tallent

Corey Tallent has practiced law under the Illinois State Bar since 2014. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and UIC‑John Marshall Law School, he has litigated extensively throughout Cook, DuPage, Lake, LaSalle, Kankakee, DeKalb, and numerous other Illinois counties. Corey routinely secures favorable rulings for clients—restoring parental rights, establishing decision-making authority, securing parenting time, and obtaining child support. Over nine years of criminal-defense practice have ranged from traffic and DUI cases to felony assault, battery, and attempted murder, resulting in over 30 not-guilty verdicts across three counties. That breadth of courtroom experience gives him a practical, strategic perspective where family and criminal matters intersect, and he is proficient in orders of protection, restraining orders, and all facets of family law.

Hired Attorney

Women beware of this attorney. Do not seek his services to represent your rights as a mother. He will take your case and your money. But all along, he is a Father's Rights attorney and will make sure the father wins regardless. He is not going to fairly fight for you and will throw your case. How can a father not show up for court and still win custody of his children? This guy Corey Tallent is working for the dad even though he claims to be the mother's attorney. He missed many court hearings and would not communicate with mother. Win fair and square. Why claim to zealously represent women and all along you are working for the father. This guy Corey Tallent did just that to me as a hard-working mother. I paid him $13,000 and he filed a Default Judgment against the father who didn't show to court. But in the order, Corey Tallent asked for the father to get Primary custody, and I got 3-hours per week visitation and every other weekend. How? Run from this attorney. Run!
