About Lori I Barkus

Divorce is the biggest financial investment of your life. The decisions you make, starting with hiring a lawyer, will affect the rest of your life. Hiring the wrong lawyer will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars in a bad settlement or bad outcome in court. Sustainable Family Solutions method is based on founder Lori Barkus' 25 years experience and proven track record for helping clients navigate complex divorce and custody situations. The firm helps clients navigate divorce and family law matters to a successful outcome. The clients we work with are primarily high income earning women who want to divorce successfully- to get to a fair solution in a way that doesn’t cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars or emotionally harm their children. We use a values based approach to help clients work past their reactionary patterns and fear to create a legal and personal strategy with realistic solutions to get what they truly value.

We offer flat fee services for some divorce n matters. No more wondering how much your case will cost. No more worrying about calling your attorney or sending an email. Our service packages spell out what work we will do for you and how much it will cost. We will also guide you through the process with our supportive team and our options for divorce coaching and financial advisor support during the process.

The process starts with a consultation/strategy session: We have several options to choose from and our dedicated intake coordinators will help you select the best one for your needs. All of our consultations begin with a detailed intake which is reviewed by the attorney prior to your meeting. Your consultation, which may be 30-45 minutes or 60-90 minutes, will answer your most important questions, provide you with an overview of the process and leave you with an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses or your case as well as a roadmap for how to have a successful divorce.
