Beth was assigned by the judge to investigate concerns of child neglect as the guardian ad litem for my case. Prior to beginning the investigation, Beth stated that she already knew what happened and made references that she had been through the same thing in her separation. Beth did not review or retain the evidence of child neglect that the judge ordered me to provide to her, nor did she spend any time with the children. Beth did not address the evidence (photos, medical records, school documents) or witness statements of severe neglect and safety concerns in her report to the court at all. Instead, she filled the report with assumptions and hearsay from my spouse. Despite her role as an "investigator", she sent emails to my attorney stating that her decision of custody which is specifically against the role of the GAL per the court order assigning her.

This GAL was supposed to protect my two boys, but instead ignored the damage caused by their father’s behavior. One of my sons was so upset he ran away from school in a dangerous part of downtown Columbia — and even that wasn’t taken seriously. To make it worse, their father rarely even showed up for his court-ordered visitation, providing no reason at all. Yet somehow, the GAL still pushed for him to keep those rights, while my children were left confused, unsafe, and unsupported. A Guardian ad Litem should stand up for children, but in this case, it felt like convenience mattered more than their safety and stability.

Beth's paralegal was highly unprofessional and threatened that I wouldn't get to see my children anymore after I attempted to reschedule a call with Beth. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day, however there wasn't any reason for this nor would it be her decision in the first place (which I calmly reminded her of).

Beth does not advocate for the children nor does she do what is the best interest of the child. She doesn’t investigate anything nor does she do her own investigation by getting to know the children, collecting information from pediatricians daycares NOTHING but yet continuously wants to petition the court for more money. Run away from her as a guardian ad litem.
