THOMAS MAGNETTI, Special Counsel / EEO Subject Matter Expert. Mr. Magnetti has a distinguished track record of successfully litigating on behalf of Government Agencies in Federal Sector employment litigation and guiding Human Resources personnel through complex issues including employment/EEO/labor issues, settlement negotiations, training, and fact finding.
Mr. Magnetti is a seasoned litigator whose substantive credentials in Federal Sector employment law and ethics, are complemented by exceptional writing and organizational skills. His talents were honed in years of service to Federal Agencies in senior positions, including:
- Contract Attorney with the Food & Nutrition Service and Departmental Management with the U.S.D.A., where he provided guidance and advice to Human Resources specialists and management on employment issues and EEO complaints.
- Senior Counsel for Employment in the Employment and Labor Law Division, Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Magnetti represented the U.S. Department of Commerce in litigation in labor arbitrations. His clients included Office of the Secretary, Bureau of the Census, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Patent and Trademark Office, and Bureau of Industry and Security. Mr. Magnetti received multiple General Counsel’s Awards and Performance Awards in recognition of his work on behalf of the agency.
- Chief of the Employee Relations and Programs Division, U.S. Government Printing Office, Office of Administration, where he managed the Employee Relations Program, the Unemployment Compensation Program, and the Workers’ Compensation program. And,
- Assistant General Counsel to the Office of General Counsel, U.S. Government Printing Office . As Chairman of Agency’s Contract and Debarment Appeals Boards, Mr. Magnetti conducted hearings and issued reported decisions, gaining valuable insight into the decision making process.
Mr. Magnetti earned his Graduate Degree from Pennsylvania State University ( 2007), his J.D. from the University of Maryland (1978), and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University ( 1975).
Mr. Magnetti is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of Maryland.
