About Ms. Shannon N. Proctor

Shannon N. Proctor focuses her practice in pharmaceutical products liability. With a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade, she is no stranger to the pharmaceutical industry and drug process. Her transition from the pharmacy industry to law was driven by wanting to continually be challenged in new ways through the evolution and changing dynamics of science and law.

Specifically, her practice includes personal injury litigation involving pharmaceutical products in both federal and state courts across the country. Experienced in all phases of litigation, Ms. Proctor has authored a wide variety of pleadings, briefs, and motions, including dispositive motions. Her experience also includes witness preparation and drafting expert witness direct and cross-examination outlines.

Ms. Proctor is named in the 2023 Washington, DC edition of Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for Personal Injury-Products, Defense.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Proctor worked in a global FDA practice where she advised clients on various FDA regulatory matters. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Deborah A. Robinson at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Office of Special Masters.

On a volunteer basis, Ms. Proctor is the Vice Chair of the Jacksonville University Black Alumni Network where she facilitates meaningful engagement opportunities for Black Alumni by empowering, connecting, and celebrating the university’s Black community and its history on Jacksonville’s campus. She also serves on the Emory DC Network Board where she supports Emory Cares initiatives and service opportunities throughout the DC area.

Ms. Proctor received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2015 where she was an Associate Justice on the Emory University Constitutional Council. While in law school, she served as a member of AmeriCorps, represented indigent clients in various civil matters, and received the Dean's Public Service Award.
