Kenneth M. Fagin focuses his practice on patent preparation, prosecution, and strategic intellectual property counseling. He works closely with clients in mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical engineering fields to secure broad, high-value patent protection aligned with their business objectives.
Ken is experienced in both procuring patents and addressing patent-related litigation matters. He has a well-established record of success before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, frequently obtaining allowance of patent applications at the examiner level without the need for appeals. He draws on this experience to help clients strengthen their competitive positions and enhance company value through the acquisition and use of intellectual property rights.
Prior to beginning his patent career in 1992, Ken earned a B.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas, providing him with special insight into his work with clients in technical industries. He has experience advising on intellectual property matters for a range of technologies, including automotive and aircraft engine components, gas turbine and wind power generators, large-scale desalination and water purification processes, medical devices, and food manufacturing and processing lines.
