Gil Light is a trial attorney serving clients throughout the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. His practice focuses on representing victims of accidents who are suffering injuries or other complications as a result of negligence.
Mr. Light is a seasoned litigator and trial attorney who has tried dozens of jury trials and bench trials to verdict. Before joining Morgan and Morgan, Mr. Light served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia for eleven years. As an AUSA, Mr. Light served as the Chief of the Federal Major Crimes section, where he supervised the prosecutions of hundreds of federal criminal cases. Mr. Light was the lead prosecutor on criminal investigations and prosecutions ranging from organized crime, narcotics trafficking, and money laundering to homicides, sexual assaults, carjackings, and robberies. After years spent pursuing justice for victims of violent crimes, he now uses his experience in the courtroom arguing before judges and juries to secure the best results for his clients.
Prior to his government service, Mr. Light worked as a commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense associate at Venable, LLP. He graduated from the Catholic University School of Law in 2007, where he served on law review and competed in mock trial competitions, earning an Outstanding Advocate award at the Georgetown National white collar Crime Mock Trial competition. He is admitted to the Virginia Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
