About Brian M. Frank

Brian Frank advises domestic and international clients on food and drug law. He assists clients in obtaining regulatory clearances for food contact materials, color additives, and food additives and helps clients bring new products to market in the United States (U.S.), European Union (EU), Asia, and South America (MERCOSUR).

Brian prepares legal opinion letters evaluating food packaging components such as additives, printing inks, adhesives, polymer components, and color additives used in plastics, paper and paperboard, and coatings. He is also well-versed in regulatory requirements related to extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes, including those applicable to recycled materials intended for use in food contact applications.

In addition, Brian advises clients on tobacco and e-vapor regulations by providing state and federal legislative counsel to tobacco and e-vapor suppliers, retailers, distributors, and manufacturers.

While attending American University’s Washington College of Law, Brian was Senior Technical Editor for the American University Law Review. He was also a Dean’s fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Department and a Founding Member and Chief Marketing Officer for the university’s Space Law Society. Additionally, Brian served as a Legal Intern for a New Jersey-based law firm before working as a Summer Associate at Keller and Heckman, where he conducted regulatory research, evaluated new ingredient usage, and tracked developments in state and local laws for firm clients.
