About John Scott Isherwood

Scott Isherwood grew up in the San Francisco bay area and attended the University of California, Davis where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in managerial economics. After graduation, Scott was an economist in the pricing and contracts division of Northrop Grumman, a Fortune 500 aerospace firm in southern California. His work there involved developing labor and material forecasts for commercial and military aircraft contracts. Desiring to return to northern California, he was hired as law clerk at prominent San Francisco law firm where he assisted the attorneys in complex toxic tort and product defect litigation.

After a year as a law clerk, Mr. Isherwood attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s Honor List all three years and was admitted to the Traynor Honor Society. In 1995, he graduated with distinction, and was admitted to the California State Bar in December 1995.

During his first decade of practice he worked with two distinguished law firms where he handled a broad variety of matters from multi-million dollar contract disputes, real property conflicts, construction defect litigation, toxic tort defense, to plaintiff and defense personal injury matters. During this time he developed an expertise in dispute resolution, and litigation practice and procedure. Mr. Isherwood took hundreds of cases from inception through successful completion. He tried cases to jury verdict.

In 2007, Mr. Isherwood opened the Law Offices of J. Scott Isherwood, to offer his clients personalized litigation and consultation services in an efficient, cost-effective manner. His practice focuses on commercial, business and real estate litigation, and providing general dispute resolution services to individuals, community associations and small and mid-sized businesses.

He is active in the local American Inn of Court and the Contra Costa Bar Association.

He lives in Contra Costa County with his wife and three children. He coaches his kids’ soccer teams and enjoys the myriad outdoor activities available in this beautiful part of the country.
