My daughter Zoe, who was 4 years old, was involved in an accident in 2010 whereby she lost her left leg. We were in a state of deep despair and darkness. My husband was hit by a car and suffered very serious injuries. From the moment my husband and I met him at the Rehab Hospital, I knew that we were dealing with a caring and extremely skilled professional. Darcy Merkur is an impeccably organized, patient and knowledgeable lawyer to whom me and my family owe a great deal. He represented my son who at a very young age suffered a catastrophic brain injury. Without Darcy's help, attention to detail and knowledge my son's future would be vastly different from what it is currently. Despite being a miracle my son (now 11) requires quite a bit of help. My only regret in hiring Darcy was that I didn’t do it sooner; unfortunately, coming from a province with public insurance, I had no idea what I was in for when I got into a severe car accident in Ottawa and handled my case on my own for the first year. Since I was unrepresented, both insurance companies took advantage of me and left me without attendant care and didn’t process payments leaving me broke. An amazing lawyer who was there when I needed someone to listen. I was in a motorcycle accident with no tort and charged with careless driving.
