About Shawn Horrocks

Shawn is a litigator with extensive experience representing a wide variety of clients in cases including commercial disputes, personal injury, involuntary civil commitments, criminal defense, and federal administrative claims. Shawn attended the University of Virginia School of Law and was licensed in Texas in 2012. While at UVA Shawn was active in the leadership of the Rex E. Lee Law Society, participated in the William M. Lile Moot Court Competition and was selected to participate in the Prosecution Clinic. Before attending law school, Shawn earned a B.S. in Economics from Brigham Young University in 2009.

Growing up, Shawn’s father was an officer in the U.S. Air Force giving him the opportunity to experience life in almost every region of the country. He and his family settled in the Houston area in 2012 where Shawn has been active in the Houston Bar Association as well as the Harris County Municipal Justice Bar Association.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
