About Martins Isioma Imudia

Martins I. Imudia was born in rural Oza-Nogogo in Delta State, Nigeria. He was the first college graduate in his family, thanks in large part to the emphasis his late father placed on the importance of education for personal and social success. As an immigrant himself, he is passionate about defending the rights of immigrants, whether they relocate for asylum, family, investment, employment, or other reasons.

Martins has been married for over 20 years to Dr. Anthonia N. Imudia, a former assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University. She is currently an attorney with CFUIS and the managing partner of Imudia Law – a litigation law firm. Together they have a daughter and a son. In their free time, they enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures.

Experience with the Center for U.S. Immigration Services (CFUIS)

At CFUIS, Martins has been the director since 2014. He brought with him over 20 years of experience practicing immigration and nationality law. He is an expert on a wide range of immigration issues, from labor certification, to deportation defense, to employment and business visas.

Previous law experience

Prior to joining CFUIS, Martins practiced law at his firm Martins I. Imudia & Associates, located in New Orleans. During this time he consulted on project management and investment with influential development agencies, such as the United Nations and the World Bank. He was also a board member of the African Chamber of Commerce and served as managing director from 1995-1997.

Organizational board experience

Martins is on the board of the Clifford Ojeriakhi Imudia Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on bringing sustainable healthcare and education to the most vulnerable people in Africa. He is proud to serve on several other boards as well.

Publications

Martins is a coauthor of the book Why Projects Fail in the Public Sector and the author of The Investors’ Guide to U.S. Immigration Law.

Hired Attorney

If there was a rating that was less than a 1, I would have assigned to this firm. Do not hire this firm to represent you if you want to be dealing with honest, competent and professional law firm. I found Dr. imudia dishonest and incompetent and he is quirky, and temperamental. He will avoid responding difficult questions and will easily yell at you. I was referred to this firm about a year ago by a friend. I thought you could rely on referrals so I didn’t do much background check before signing a retainer. I signed a retainer and then paid them $3k. They sent to me at the time questionnaire to be completed. However, shortly, after receiving the questionnaire my personal situation changed so I told him I would like to put my process on hold. Fast forward a year later, with no work done except a couple of emails exchanged, the firm is refusing to return my retainer. He has instead sent me an illegal invoice, consisting of emails I sent to him about clarification on VAWA vs EB2 visa
