Charlie Chin is a Partner based out of HBS’s Tampa Office. Charlie is an experienced trial attorney with extensive courtroom experience, including trying cases in both civil and criminal courts. His litigation practice focuses on defending our clients’ interests in the areas of premises liability, commercial auto, construction defect, business litigation & contract matters, as well as all other areas of general liability.
Prior to joining HBS, Charlie was a senior associate with a national insurance defense firm advocating for his clients in all areas of general liability and handled the firm’s claims and suits pertaining to Personal Injury Protection (PIP), auto glass, and all other subrogation matters. His legal career began as an Assistant State Attorney with the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Florida where Charlie gained extensive trial experience prosecuting cases in and for Pinellas County, Florida.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Charlie earned his B.S. in Project & Supply Chain Management from the Pennsylvania State University. Before returning to school to earn his law degree, Charlie spent several years working as an analyst and underwriter for a publicly traded business bank focusing mainly on specialty financing for commercial clients. Thereafter, he earned his Juris Doctor from the Florida Coastal School of Law where he was the Executive Editor for Research and Writing for the Florida Coastal Law Review. He was also a member of the school’s (then) nationally ranked Moot Court Honor board, for which he was a two-time semi-finalist in the NAPABA Law Foundation’s National Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition in 2015 and 2016.
