When Rebecca assumed representation in my case, I reasonably expected competent advocacy focused on protecting my children and me. Instead, it became immediately clear that she had no intention of actively representing our interests. I repeatedly provided Rebecca with evidence of ongoing verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse by my ex-husband toward both myself and our children. Her only response—repeated verbatim—was, “I’m sorry he is still treating you this way. Keep documenting.” She offered no legal strategy, no guidance on how to strengthen documentation, no explanation of what threshold would warrant court intervention, and no timeline for action, despite the volume and seriousness of the evidence I provided. Rebecca’s persistent inaction and dismissal of my safety concerns directly contributed to escalating harm.
