Porsche Shantz graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law more than thirty years ago and has since built a distinguished appellate practice across multiple jurisdictions. She served as the first Clerk’s Office Staff Attorney for the Supreme Court of Florida, where she helped revise internal jurisdictional training materials, and went on to represent the Florida First and Fourth District Courts of Appeal as well as the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. Over her career, she has drafted and filed numerous appellate briefs, conducted complex legal research in civil and criminal matters, and prepared recommendations on procedural and substantive issues ranging from family law and probate to insurance coverage disputes and mortgage foreclosures. An active participant on internal court workgroups and rules commissions, Porsche is a detail-oriented, decisive advocate committed to timely, law-abiding delivery of appellate services. The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
