Douglas J. Giorgio III, is of counsel in the Tax and Corporate section of the firm. Mr. Giorgio was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Savannah. He attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Philosophy.
While at Notre Dame, Mr. Giorgio was a member of the University's golf team where he served as Captain his senior year. Upon graduation, Mr. Giorgio spent the following year in Florida participating in professional golf tournaments.Mr. Giorgio then attended Georgia State University and earned a Master of Taxation and became a certified public accountant.
He worked for Price Waterhouse in Savannah and, later, as a Senior Accountant for Coopers & Lybrand in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was promoted to Manager before returning tolaw school at the University of South Carolina School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 2001.Mr. Giorgio is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of South Carolina, and is former president of the Savannah Estate Planning Council.
