Jennifer Cottis is an experienced and successful civil litigator and trial attorney, skilled in general business litigation as well as employment litigation. For more than two decades, her practice has had particular focus in the areas of business disputes and employment and labor law, successfully representing both employees and employers in all types of cases, including contract, harassment, discrimination, whistleblower, and wage and hour matters. With the benefit of hundreds of cases handled, considerable trial experience, and participation in countless forms of alternative dispute resolution, Jennifer’s unique background allows her to aptly strategize and explore avenues of litigation and resolution designed to achieve the best possible results for her clients.
Ms. Cottis has litigated throughout the state of California in a variety of labor-wage and hour cases, contractual/business disputes, and general civil litigation matters. Ms. Cottis notably obtained a jury verdict of $25.9 million after 6 weeks of trial in an age discrimination case, Hawkins v. Kmart Corp. et al, Riverside County, Superior Court Case No. RIC462322. In addition to her experience and proven track record, Ms. Cottis is meticulous, articulate, attentive, and responsive.
Ms. Cottis obtained her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University where she graduated with a double major and with honors in an accelerated program after three years. Thereafter, Ms. Cottis attended Santa Clara University School of Law where she was a research editor for the Santa Clara Law Review and a successful moot court competitor. Jennifer excelled at Santa Clara University School of Law, finishing in the top 20 percent of her class.
