In his career as a criminal defense attorney, Michael has posted an impressive record as a trial attorney. He understands when to fight for a favorable outcome in the courtroom and when to pursue a fair resolution out of court. He understands the wisdom of a negotiated resolution where both parties take ownership of the process and outcomes—but has the instinct to understand when that outcome is not possible.
While Michael has previous experience in civil litigation, criminal defense and prosecution of attorney malpractice, he currently devotes all of his practice to family law. Michael specializes in domestic violence defense, leveraging his criminal defense expertise. He understands the stigma and prejudice of a domestic violence accusation, and has the unique expertise to litigate these matters to a successful and discrete conclusion.
Michael practices predominantly in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco and Marin Counties. He maintains excellent relationships with the judges and attorneys in those counties.
