Left over 50 messages over the course of 3 months and not even a call back, completely unexcusable and the worst I've ever seeen or dealt with period!

We posted this so others do not have to go through what we went through, and this was one of the worse experiences we have had with an attorney, so don't bother hiring this firm. Joe Barr didn't keep his word to us, nor did he care about what he stated to me personally at the beginning of the case; it was just a lot of talk which he is good at (lots of upbeat attitude at times, but most of the situations and delays he caused were not in our best interest which caused more and more stress on us, and this was on top of us dealing with everything else . . . ). He also didn’t ever really apologize for anything, except to say I’m sorry that you feel that way . . . (not even close to sincerity in our view). In our opinion he didn’t keep his promises to us and then on top of everything else, he lied to us and then decided to do something an attorney is never suppose to do without any notice to anyone.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
