Edward “Eddy” Grichanik is the most tenured Associate Attorney at HHJ Trial Attorneys. Eddy is a zealous and tenacious advocate who fights for the rights of individuals who have sustained catastrophic personal injuries and egregious workplace injustices. Eddy plays a key role in the firm’s litigation efforts, with a primary focus on complex law and motion work. He also regularly represents clients in court proceedings, depositions, meditations, etc., working closely with the Partners to secure the most favorable results possible for all of the firm’s well-deserving clients.
Eddy was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Eddy received his undergraduate degree with honors in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he was recognized for academic excellence as both an admissions scholarship recipient and a multi-year academic merit scholar.
During law school, Eddy made the Dean’s Honor Roll, served as President of the Business Law Society, and earned the Academic Achievement Award in several courses, including Advanced Mediation for Lawyers and Legal Skills. He also worked as a LexisNexis legal research representative and legal writing teaching fellow for multiple years, which enabled him to cultivate an advanced approach to efficient legal research and compelling legal writing, with an emphasis on clarity and accuracy.
Eddy’s legal experience is broad and dynamic. He clerked for several prominent litigation firms, gaining hands-on experience in a variety of practice areas, including, but not limited to, personal injury, products liability, mass torts, insurance bad faith, securities fraud, complex business litigation, and employment law. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Karen S. Crawford of the United State District Court for the Southern District of California, where he gained invaluable insight into the judicial process through direct observation of court proceedings and settlement conferences.
Eddy’s unwavering dedication to his clients and relentless pursuit of justice has not gone unnoticed. Eddy has been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an exclusive recognition given only to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California. He has also been selected as a Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyer in California by the National Trial Lawyers, a prestigious distinction bestowed upon only a select group of young trial attorneys under the age of 40 who exhibit superior qualifications, exemplary trial results, and exceptional leadership.
