Bar Fellowship
of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. Don was acknowledged as a Senior Statesman by
America's Leading Business Lawyer - Chambers USA 2005-2006 andwas named a "litigation star" in the 2013 edition of
Benchmark Litigation. Don is a Tau Beta Pi mechanical engineer from Yale. He was Co-Editor in Chief of Oregon's first 3-volume work on Civil Pleading and Practice. He taught Remedies as an adjunct instructor at Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College. His technical background is valuable in intellectual property cases involving electronics, optics, mechanics, communications technologies, computer applications and the like. His cases often involve complex technical or business issues, professional malpractice, shareholder or employment disputes, contract controversies, and business tort actions.
The breadth of Don's practice is suggested by his handling of the landmark medical antitrust case of Patrick v. Burget, in which the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously upheld his jury verdict, and by his 1965 trial victory desegregating the Neshoba County courthouse in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Don has served as President of the Multnomah Bar Association and as an elected Delegate to the American Bar Association's House of Delegates.
