About Mr. Craig M. Hopkins

Craig has a solid reputation in the legal community for being straightforward and reasonable. Growing up in Southern California, with such a diverse population, provided him an impressive ability to connect with people from all different walks of life. His upbringing instilled in him strong values that he lives by both personally and professionally. He believes in honesty, sincerity, hard work, and persistence. Craig makes it a point to always be kind, realizing that struggles in life are sometimes symptoms of a larger or different issue that is not externally apparent. Combining his ability to empathize with people along with his effective negotiating strategies is what makes Craig so successful at connecting with Reynolds Defense Firm clients and obtaining results that protect their best interests.

Craig was born in New York and lived in many states around the New England area before his parents settled in Southern California when he was 11. His childhood experience taught him that life is a series of transitions and flows which cultivated in him the ability to adapt to change easily. Craig graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in psychology. After college, Craig worked for nearly 20 years for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, first in sales and then in legal compliance. Craig attended Southwestern University School of Law, during which he gained experience working as a certified law clerk for the District Attorney, as well as a judicial clerk in both the Superior Court and Court of Appeals. Upon graduation, Craig was the recipient of several academic awards including being named to the Dean’s List and earning the CALI “Excellence for the Future” Awards in both Criminal Law and Evidence.

Following law school, Craig fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to the glorious state of Oregon where he was privileged to work for the State Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General in Salem. Later, Craig moved to Portland to fulfill another dream of opening his own law practice, where he handled personal injury and DUII cases. After a successful career as a solo practitioner for 15 years, Craig wanted to begin a new chapter in his professional life. He wanted the experience of being part of a specialized team, with the ability to hone in his knowledge and skills to become an expert in DUI law.

Having lived in so many places across the U.S. made Craig realize that while people are culturally and geographically diverse, everyone appreciates a smile and a good joke at the right time. He was granted the opportunity to learn and develop skills that are now tools to truly help people in real life difficult times. Outside of work he enjoys tinkering with his old truck; trying to convert it to a overland adventure vehicle. He is a fan of the New England Patriots and given the chance he could gladly watch 6 hours of football on any given day. He is a novice guitar player, interested in becoming a skilled one. He is very close with his immediate family who all remain in CA, and he once worked as a Contestant Coordinator on the gameshow SCRABBLE with Chuck Woolery!
