Hired Law Firm

She filed my divorce without having me review it. This was terrible for me because she listed my home address, contrary to my very specific wishes. It was a matter of safety that my ex not be sent my address. When she drew up the amendment (for free), she took an extra week to file it because her assistant was on vacation. The whole process cost 40% more than initially quoted.

Hired Attorney Cathy Tappel

I hired Ms. Cathy Steele Tappel for my divorce in 1999, then subsequently for a custody case in 2005. In the first proceeding, I had limited understanding of family law and how fair or unfair things were. My ex spouse, Steven A. Chase is a lawyer and difficult to deal with for other lawyers. Ms Tappel's old firm reviewed my case file, told me to collect on arrears through her insurance as they believed she did malpractice but it was to no avail. My ex owes money I will never get thanks to her

Hired Law Firm

Cathy was my divorce lawyer. She encouraged me to have a high conflict divorce, dominate my ex, argue over all assets/custody daily for a year. It cost me over $50,000. I ended up broke after divorce as Cathy advised me to always fight with my ex, always be contrary. She promised Id try to win all assets in divorce but I lost most. I used to rely on my ex to make my life beautiful but now I trashed my ex’s life with all the war I started on her and the children. Cathy malpracticed my divorce!

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.

Attorneys that receive reviews from their peers, but not a sufficient number to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, will have those reviews display on our websites.
