This woman was my guardian ad litem in the early 2000s when I was 8 years old and I think she messed up my entire life. She turned me against one parent based off of the other's lies and I'm just now finally undoing some of the damage she did, 20 years later. Almost nothing my mom or Ms. Burke told me was true and trying to come to terms with that as an adult is almost impossible. Ms. Burke was constantly reinforcing lies week after week to an impressionable little girl the entire time, and I feel I was maliciously brainwashed against a loving parent, just so the other parent would benefit. I truly feel that Ms. Burke ruined my life and it's going to take years of (additional) therapy to undo the harm she did.
Utilized her services as a guardian ad litem; the most unprofessional individual I have ever has the misfortune of working with. Totally inappropriate conversations with my kids, never dealt with the issues & refused to do anything until her retainer was satisfied . . A true mercenary, interested in her own interests rather than the kids best interest. My kids will have to deal with the repercussions of dealing with an inept guardian for years to come . . . Absolutely horrible experience.
I would never recommend this attorney. She did as little as possible. Was provided with all info she asked for months before and she did not read anything before the first court appearance. She embarrassed herself and poorly represented me as a client. She was ineffective as a negotiator and spent personal time with opposing counsel and charged me for the time. She wasted office time filling out forms she said she would have done. No basic advocacy- never suggested an interim agreement.
