I was arrested for first time DWI with a high BAC. I originally hired a ‘big name’ DWI lawyer in Dallas. They were not getting anything accomplished after 7 months, so I asked around and heard that Doug was the guy who gets things done in Collin County. I decided that a positive outcome was important enough to eat the retainer fee from my first attorney and ended up hiring Doug and the Wilder Law Firm. Based on Doug’s process and relationship with prosecutors in Collin Co, he was able to get my high BAC dropped down to a class B deferred-- which the first lawyer I hired said was impossible. The prosecutor even gave me credit for some of the time served with the interlock device, based on Doug’s persistence and strategic thinking. Deciding to hire Doug and The Wilder Firm was the difference between having to take a Class A and deal with a conviction forever, vs a Class B deferred where I now have the opportunity to learn from my mistake and move on with life without a criminal record.
I was arrested for drinking while driving. I was struggling to get the support I needed and was told by someone I trusted that the Wilder Law Firm would defend me. After talking to the amazing staff and Doug himself, I knew without a doubt that I was in the right place with the right people that would be there for me throughout this stressful journey. After having the first meeting with Doug and his team, they quickly followed up with multiple suggestions to help me navigate through my case. Starting with a trusting and reliable reference for an outpatient program and meetings to not only help my case but to help me as an individual. Throughout the case I was constantly checked up on by Doug and his team. The warm and inviting support that I received was more than I could’ve asked for. I will say if you do not put in the work yourself, it is hard for anyone to defend you. They kept me organized, levelheaded, calm, and helped me accomplish a list of goals that helped me in the long run.
I was charged with felony assault after having an altercation with my brother. My mom was referred to the Wilder Law Firm by an acquaintance of hers. Doug and Megan worked extremely hard fighting my case with the DA’s office. After relentlessly not giving up and setting my case for trial, the DA’s office final dismissed my case. I am very greatful for Doug, Megan and the Wilder team for helping me with not having a criminal record and being able to move forward with my goals and dreams.
Doug is the best lawyer for DWI/DUI cases. A true professional. 25+ years working on DWI/DUI cases, he has all the experience and contacts. All you want to be assured is that he has good relationships with DA office and the County Judges. Thats all matters !! Well respected in the community. Finally i have peace of mind with plea bargain today for my DWI for far less than what i expected. And you will not miss any thing as AMY (Legal assistant ) will be with you through out the case. She is persistent and voracious in detailing things about the case. You will never go wrong with. your choice. Call Doug !!
We retained this firm because of the glowing reviews but our experience has been far from that. If you are looking for an empathetic firm that prioritizes communication with clients, look somewhere else. They represented us for approximately 96 hours and I promptly switched counsel due to the lack of concern for the urgency of our situation. Long story short, we switched counsel and got a court date in 4 business days. Wilder law firm told us 1 month, no calls, no portal updates, nothing. Took our money for almost no work. Will force you to spend over 1k in class fees on top of your retainer, is his cookie cutter approach. Do not recommend if you want a tailor made strategy to your case!
Douglas Wilder represented me in a DWI case in 2008. I was naive about how the court system worked and just assumed I was handling the situation right by paying an attorney $5000, especially one who claimed to be the best. He did not even know all the facts. When he came out the first time and told me the decision he had made with the judge, I asked him if he even mention some important facts regarding the case. He forgot! In fact, he didn’t even attempt to do anything to assist in my favor.
