About Peter James Ganyard

Peter Ganyard joined The Shapiro Law Firm in 2021. The son of a retired Marine Corps Colonel, Peter moved to Dallas in 2010 to begin law school at Southern Methodist University after two years of working on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. After graduating from Southern Methodist in 2014, he joined the Collin County District Attorney's Office as a misdemeanor prosecutor. Peter quickly moved up the ranks of the District Attorney's Office and was promoted to misdemeanor chief, felony prosecutor, and then felony chief. He gained valuable experience working in the Domestic Violence Unit, Crimes Against Children Unit, and the Felony Trial team, eventually leading the 416th District Court for two years. During that time, he tried over 50 misdemeanor and felony jury trials and has handled thousands of cases including DWI, assault family violence, sexual assault, white collar crime, drug offenses, and capital murder. He was nominated as Child Advocate of the Year and was appointed as Special Prosecutor in both Hunt and Rockwall Counties. He graduated with Honors from Clemson University in 2008.

Hired Attorney

Initially, I hired a different attorney to help me with my case. It didn't take long to discover that all of the promises on the website and in-person were not being kept. Please don't make the mistake I did. I decided to find a new attorney. Choose Peter Ganyard so you make the right choice the first time. I am a law-abiding citizen. However, I found myself in jail accused of Assault Public Servant. That is a 3rd-degree felony! I was facing 2-10 years in prison. Peter helped find that the officer that arrested me was not found to be credible. The officer used excessive force and caused me severe injuries. Peter proved to the District Attorney's office that the officer was at fault and that I was the victim. Peter was able to prove to the DA that I am innocent. My case was dropped. Thank you, Peter. I will always be grateful for your protection. I have my life back. I had nightmares about being in prison and leaving my children alone. That nightmare is finally over.
