Brandt Howell practices in all areas of intellectual property with a specialization in patent prosecution. His patent practice expertise includes domestic patent preparation and prosecution, patentability studies, infringement opinions, and client counseling related to intellectual property issues. Mr. Howell handles a broad spectrum of patent applications including high value applications for inventions that have been adopted into industry standards. Mr. Howell has significant experience in electrical and optical telecommunications. Mr. Howell also has experience in many other technology areas including computer software, computer hardware, hydrocarbon exploration, mechanical devices, medical devices, and business methods.
Mr. Howell’s experience also includes representing clients with a broad range of intellectual property needs. Mr. Howell’s non-patent experience includes trademark prosecution, copyright acquisition, licensing, and entertainment law with an emphasis on the music industry, corporate transactions, and contract negotiation. Mr. Howell also has experience in copyright and trademark infringement litigation, complex commercial litigation, and general litigation.
Mr. Howell graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in computer engineering and attended the Mississippi College School of Law. Mr. Howell is a member of the Mississippi bar and practiced law in the State of Mississippi for four years prior to joining Conley Rose. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
