Attorney Michael Waltman is an exceptional trial attorney who has dedicated his career to criminal defense work. He is acutely aware of the stresses that accompany criminal charges, and focuses his practice on maintaining client communication.
His philosophy is that a well-informed client is a prepared client. Michael is Capital Qualified, meaning that he is one of only a few attorneys in Western Pennsylvania permitted by law to represent persons facing the death penalty.
Michael is also a member of the Federal CJA Panel, which is a group of attorneys selected, in part, by members of the Federal judiciary to represent individuals charged with Federal crimes. Michael represents people facing charges ranging from minor offenses to the most serious offenses, and treats each with the respect they deserve.
Michael is a 2003 graduate from Penn State University, University Park, and a 2007 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, where he received a full merit-based academic scholarship.
Attorney Waltman began his career as an attorney in the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender’s Office, leaving that office in 2010 to enter private practice.
Before joining Ketchel Law, Michael worked in a mid-sized civil-defense firm where he provided criminal defense support for clients of all backgrounds, defending cases from underage drinking to criminal homicide.
