She also concentrates on natural resources and energy issues and has experience with oil and gas well development issues, including contract drafting, due diligence and title analysis for Marcellus and Utica Shale developers.

Background

Ms. Scott graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University in 2004, earning a Bachelors of Arts as a double major in economics and political science. While in college, she spent a year studying at Oxford University in Oxford, England. She was selected for membership in Phi Beta Kappa and authored an Honors Thesis titled “Tackling America’s Declining Social Capital: How Microenterprise Builds Communities.” Ms. Scott earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2007, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, she served as lead note and comment editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce and as a teaching assistant for a first-year legal writing class. She also participated in the Neighborhood Legal Services Clinic.

While in law school, Ms. Scott spent three years working in the law department of the corporate headquarters of a national retailer, where she examined commercial leases and drafted ancillary lease agreements. During college, she worked for a title company preparing title insurance policies.

Ms. Scott is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is a member of the Allegheny and Pennsylvania Bar associations.
