About Timothy M. Engel

TIMOTHY M. ENGEL was born in Winner, South Dakota, on March 11, 1961, and was raised in the Winner area. He attended the University of South Dakota for both undergraduate and graduate degrees, receiving a Bachelor's Degree, Cum Laude, in 1982 and a Juris Doctor in 1985. He served as law clerk to the Honorable Donald J. Porter, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota from 1985 to 1986. Mr. Engel is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, and is admitted to practice before all federal courts in South Dakota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Engel represents numerous lenders, financial institutions, and governmental entities. He also represents several rural water service providers. Mr. Engel is general counsel for BankWest, Inc., and the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority.
