About Michael Hadgis

Michael Hadgis is a seasoned civil litigator with over 15 years of experience defending insureds, self-insured businesses, and governmental entities in personal injury and property damage matters. His practice includes the defense of motor vehicle, UM/UIM, premises liability, products liability, general negligence, and construction claims.

Over the course of his career, Michael has tried dozens of jury trials in state and federal court. Before joining the firm, he spent seven years as in-house trial counsel for national insurance carriers, where he gained substantial courtroom experience and maintained a perfect record in jury trials.

Michael clerked for Judge Ronald C. Nagle in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas immediately after law school. He completed a judicial externship with Judge Chad F. Kenney in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas during his third year of law school.

Michael is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Michael is a member of the Parish Council of the St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, Pa.

    Representative Matters: Premises Liability (Berks County, PA) - Secured a defense verdict following a jury trial involving allegations that Plaintiff fell into an open roadway trench while jogging before sunrise during installation of a Mariner gas line. Plaintiff claimed a compound leg fracture, prolonged entrapment in a 15-foot-deep trench, extended hospitalization, multiple surgeries,
    post-surgical infection. Plaintiff sought $2.5 million in damages
    pursued punitive damages, all of which were rejected by the jury.
    Auto Liability (Philadelphia County, PA) - Obtained a defense verdict after a jury trial in a rear-end motor vehicle accident case in which Plaintiff alleged neck
    back injuries. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the defense following trial before Judge Schulman.
    Product Liability (Philadelphia County, PA) - Secured a defense verdict after a jury trial involving allegations that a stove malfunction in a rental property projected hot cooking oil onto Plaintiff, causing second-
    third-degree burns. Plaintiff required admission to a hospital burn unit
    multiple skin graft procedures. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the defense following trial before Judge Powell.
    Auto Liability (Philadelphia County, PA) - Favorably resolved a rear-end motor vehicle accident case during trial after Plaintiff rested his case-in-chief. Plaintiff alleged injuries requiring injections
    radiofrequency ablation. The matter settled based on the final pre-jury-selection offer, resulting in a favorable outcome for the defense.
    Premises Liability (Philadelphia County, PA) - Favorably resolved a premises liability action involving allegations that Plaintiff fell on a staircase in a rental unit, sustaining a significant leg laceration requiring surgical repair
    resulting in permanent scarring. The matter settled on the first day of trial.
