    Cases
Representative Matters: T.W. v. Tabor Community Partners (Philadelphia County, PA) - The case was filed by Kline & Specter
alleged our client, a community service provider, was negligent in its placement of a minor which caused the minor to be sexually assaulted
    trafficked. After initial discovery
exchange of voluminous records, Plaintiff's counsel filed a Motion to Discontinue the Action, admitting that discovery did not support a viable claim against our client.
Doe v. Woods Services, Inc., et al. (U.S.D.C., Eastern District) - Plaintiff was an adult who alleged that, as a minor, he was groomed
sexually abused by male staff members at a camp owned
operated by a local private school. Case dismissed after successful argument that the claims were outside of the Pennsylvania statute of limitations.
Sexual Abuse on School Property (Delaware) - Minor-plaintiff alleged her adopted father, a teacher, repeatedly molested her on a parochial school's property. Plaintiff attempted to bring suit outside of the statute of limitations by using the Delaware Child Victims Act, which allowed claims to proceed against institutions outside of the statute of limitations upon a showing of gross negligence. Defense Motion for Summary Judgment granted at the trial court level, which was overturned on appeal,
the matter resolved prior to trial.
Hotel Sex Trafficking Lawsuit (Philadelphia County, PA) - Successful defense of a hotel operator accused of allowing sex trafficking of minors on-site at various motels in Philadelphia County. Multiple motels, including big chains like Days Inn, Inc., were defendants in the suit. We negotiated a settlement amount significantly less than a $24 million amount awarded against a large chain hotel in pretrial arbitration.
Sexual Molestation Against a Local Fire Department (U.S.D.C., Eastern District) - Plaintiff-minors alleged they were molested by a leader/mentor in a local fire department's youth program. Successful settlement negotiations yielded a substantially lower amount than the initial $3.5M dem
    .
Negligence in Allowing Sexual Contact Between Minors (Bucks County, PA) - Defense of a group home from claims it allowed sexual contact between minor peers residing in the home, that they would play 'sex games' while the house parents were asleep at night
allegations our client had insufficient monitoring devices within the home. After successful transfer of the matter from Philadelphia County to Bucks County early in the case,
    after complete discovery
vigorous defense, the case resolved on the eve of trial.
    Molestation Lawsuit Against Church
Pastor (U.S.D.C., New Jersey) - Plaintiff alleged that, as a minor, he was forcibly adopted by a pastor after both his parents passed away
repeatedly molested until adulthood. Plaintiff sued both the local church, the national church,
    New Jersey's Division of Youth
Family Services. We aggressively represented the local church
resolved the matter so that our client contributed the lowest amount of the global settlement.
