What can I do if I am being sued for an accident that I couldn't help?

Mark P. Miller
Answered by attorney Mark P. Miller (Unclaimed Profile)

You may need to look into hiring an expert "Accident Reconstructionist", although since you didn't have insurance you might not be able to pay there fee which could be another couple of thousand dollars. You probably need to talk to a criminal defense attorney. They may be willing to charge you hourly just for their time to tell you what to do, since you might not be able to afford their retainer. Unfortunately, there probably isn't a cheap/inexpensive answer to your question.

How much should I ask for on my slip and fall personal injury case?

Answered by attorney Paul S Bovarnick
Personal Injury lawyer at Rose, Senders and Bovarnick, LLC
First, I'm sorry about your injury. I know how painful ankle injuries can be, and how hard it can be to recover from them. Second, it is unethical for a lawyer to communicate with a person if that person is represented by a lawyer on that same matter. But even if I could communicate with you about your case, there are far too few facts for me to make a judgment about the value of your claim. You should discuss your concerns with your lawyer, and if you find his or her explanation unsatisfactory, then you should give your lawyer a chance to explain.

What can I do to speed up my personal injury case?

Linda Jane Chalat
Answered by attorney Linda Jane Chalat (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Chalat Hatten & Banker PC
Unfortunately most personal injury cases take at least a year before being resolved. We advise clients that the process runs 18 months to 2 years. Many injured victims need at least a year to determine the extent of any permanent injury. So as difficult as it is, it probably is in your best interests to give the process the time needed to reach a point where settlement can be reached in an amount that adequately compensates you.
