Can I file a claim against the school for my son’s injury?

Mark Joseph Leonardo
Answered by attorney Mark Joseph Leonardo (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Dordick Law Corporation
Yes. Obtain a Government Tort Claim from the school's legal department (assuming this is a public school). Fill out the form and file it where indicated. It must be done with in 6 months of the incident. If they deny the claim, then you can sue them. But the tort claim is mandatory.

What can be done if a light fixture in a restaurant shattered on me?

Answered by attorney Gregory M Janks (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Gregory M. Janks, P.C.
You can make a claim against the restaurant/contractor that installed the lights. However, a case is only as good as the damages suffered. If you have scraping and bruising, there is not much to compensate. Usually the restaurant/it's insurer will pay for any uninsured medical treatment. They may consider paying any valid wage loss, disfigurement, pain & suffering claims as well, but same would have to be documented.
