How can I fill out a motion for evidence hearing paperwork?

David B. Rechtman
Answered by attorney David B. Rechtman (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Rechtman & Spevak
I'm not sure what you want an attorney to help you with in your litigation. I assume you are representing yourself. In any event, you would want a litigation attorney that specializes in that type of lawsuit. If the case is in Federal Court, you would want an attorney that is experienced in Federal Court cases. You should be able to find an attorney that will help you with "paperwork", who will charge you their usual hourly rate. I would expect the rate to be in the $250 per hour neighborhood.

Can a person sue me for an accident if I was driving the company bus while I was at work?

Answered by attorney Gregory M Janks (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Gregory M. Janks, P.C.
Of course they can sue you, you admit you were the negligent party however, they will undoubtedly also sue your employer and say that the employer is responsible for your actions as you were within the scope and course of your employment. They/their lawyer will want the employer's presumably large insurance policy to be available to pay any settlement/verdict vs. your presumably lesser personal assets. Your vehicle insurance won't even cover you for an on the job negligent act, but your employer's insurance will. The employer's liability insurer will defend any claims made/actions filed and provide you/your employer with a lawyer.

Am I liable for damages caused by an act of nature?

Travis S Prestwich
Answered by attorney Travis S Prestwich (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Swanson Lathen Prestwich, PC
If a truly is an act of nature, you probably are not liable. However, if there are things you could have or should have done to secure the canopy, then you could be held liable. Your insurance company for your homeowner's policy can make a determination.
