Do I have a case if I slip and fall during my lunch break at work?

Probably not, because it's probably a worker's compensation claim, not a tort claim against your employer (assuming you slipped and fell at your workplace). You should immediately consult with a worker's compensation attorney. I don't handle those kinds of cases, but can refer you to a good lawyer if you'd like one, but I'll count on you to contact me if you would like a referral.

If I am a stylist at a salon and I fell, is the salon responsible for my medical bills?

You are not responsible if you are an employee. You have a workers compensation claim and the employer's carrier will pay for your treatment.

Almost all personal injury lawyers will work on a contingency basis. The real question is, can you get one to take your case? These cases aren't easy: people want to believe police over the persons arrested; you would have to show that he knew or should have known that the cuffs were too tight, or that he over-tighted them on purpose; he did loosen them when you asked. You may have a case, but it is anything but clear-cut.
