If I was assaulted in hotel lounge, who would help pay my medical bills and lost wages?

David B. Rechtman
Answered by attorney David B. Rechtman (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Rechtman & Spevak
The hotel may have insurance coverage called "med-pay" that may pay some or all of your medical expenses. Ask the hotel to put you in touch with their insurance carrier and ask if the hotel has "med-pay" coverage & if they do, how much. Tell the insurer you would like to make a "med-pay" claim, if this coverage is available. Otherwise, your complaint is against the person who assaulted you, & even if you won in court, it would difficult to collect unless he is wealthy.

Is there anything I can do to prevent getting sued for an accident?

Answered by attorney Steven Alan Fink (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Fink & Abraham LLP
If your title was transferred to your sister on DMV records you have no liability as the former owner. Send letter writer a copy of the title transfer. That should end it. If title not validly transferred you could be liable up to $15,000 if your sister cannot cover the damages.

Is the company still liable for my reoccurring pain?

Answered by attorney Eric R. Chandler
Personal Injury lawyer at Chandler Conway, P.C., L.L.O.
That is a little too complicated of situation to give a quick written response. You should contact the attorney helping you with your work comp claim as soon as possible to discuss your case.
