Do I have legal action if my son was exposed to Asbestos?

Answered by attorney Matt Willens
Personal Injury lawyer at Willens Baez Personal Injury Lawyers, P.C.
Asbestos is the name given to a group of naturally occurring minerals that occur as bundles of fibers. When materials containing asbestos are disturbed, they can release tiny asbestos fibers which are then inhaled into the lungs. People who are exposed to asbestos can contract mesothelioma, also known as "asbestos cancer" which is a rare form of cancer found in the lining of the heart, lungs, abdomen, or the internal reproductive organs. If while your son was at the school which contained asbestos, but the materials containing asbestos was not disturbed, there probably is not a case. Due to the ever-changing nature of asbestos litigation, it is important to contact an experienced asbestos attorney if you feel you have a case. People who are exposed to asbestos and contract mesothelioma can bring an action or file suit against those responsible and recover compensation for their damages.

Can I get my money back or sue?

James Peirce Kelaher
Answered by attorney James Peirce Kelaher (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Kelaher Law Offices, P.A.
Since the amount in controversy is less than $5,000, you can sue in small claims court and you don't need a lawyer to represent you. Obviously, the salesman had a duty to disclose to you before you bought the car that it had a salvage title. The small claims court judge will unquestionably find in your favor.

Can the other person come back after a break up and demand that I give back the things he bought several years ago for Christmas like TV?

Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
He can try. He bought the stuff, so he can say that it's his. On the other hand, do you have grounds to claim that it was a gift? Also, you can say that he abandoned his property, so it's yours now. Finally, find out in your state what the statute of limitations is for actions based on conversion or replevin.
