About Wilbert R. Vancol

Wilbert is a graduate of the University of Florida (B.A.) and the University of Florida Levin College of Law (J.D. , Honors). During his time at the College of Law, Wilbert was an active member of the Florida Moot Court Team. He was selected as the National Best Advocate by the American Bar Association- the first individual from the University of Florida to win the prestigious award. He was also selected as Best Oral Advocate at the University of Florida Maguire Appellate Advocacy Competition, an award that was bestowed upon him by the Justices of the Florida Supreme Court. Wilbert is also a member of the Order of the Barristers. In addition to his role in Moot Court, Wilbert also served as president of the Black Law Student Association and was the recipient of the organization’s Gerald A. Williams Memorial Scholarship.

While in law school, Wilbert worked as an intern for a not-for-profit law firm in Gainesville, Florida. The firm focused on providing legal support to disabled children and the homeless. Currently, Wilbert concentrates his practice on the defense of medical negligence claims. Wilbert is active in the community and volunteers as youth basketball coach at the Downtown Orlando YMCA.
