    Prior to law school, Nikki worked for over ten years as a land use planner. During her time as a planner, she drafted policy language and worked on large scale projects in special planning areas. She also worked on issues related to school capacity and concurrency and school siting.

    When Nikki graduated from the University of North Carolina's master's program in urban and regional planning, the faculty voted her as the best housing and community development student. As an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Nikki served as a peer facilitator for the Community Service Learning Program and taught creative writing to juvenile offenders. Nikki, along with other members of the team, received the Michigan Campus Compact award for this and other community service efforts.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
