Hired Attorney Carolina Calderon

I knew within a few minutes of starting my meeting with Ms. Calderon that she wouldn't help me. My case was a landlord-tenant issue - where I'd been given tons of "fake charges" in addition to over a 7% increase in my monthly rent. I knew that there was not much I could do about the lease increase, since my building is not rent-controlled. However, the intimidation and money-grab that my landlord was doing extended to over $2,000 in charges that were never explained or communicated and just plain "inaccurate". The landlord claimed that they had not received the rent payment for a specific month. When I showed Ms. Calderon the receipts from the USPS proving certified delivery to landlord, she just said, "Well, that doesn't prove anything." Maybe she's used to defending landlords, not tenants. But one things for sure, she didn't show any empathy or concern for my situation - but, after only 10 minutes she was happy to charge me $180 for her time. Don't waste your time.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
