About Stephen V. Sommers

Stephen V. Sommers (licensed in Maryland 1996, Texas 1997, Virginia 1999), earned a B.S., summa cum laude, from Troy State University, an M.A. from Golden Gate University, and a J.D. from American University. A U.S. Air Force veteran who retired as a Major after 22 years flying fighter aircraft, Mr. Sommers has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts and is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Tenth Circuits and in all Virginia courts. He concentrates on personal injury, criminal defense, medical malpractice, product liability, aviation crash litigation, and general civil litigation. Active in the legal community, he belongs to the American Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Aviation Section of the Texas Bar, American Bar Association, Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association, and the bars of the states where he is licensed. Mr. Sommers is a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum and was nominated by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys as a 10 Best attorney for 2015 and 2016.
